Action Bronson lives in the apartment he’s lived in his whole life, at the southern edge of Flushing, Queens. Before he started rapping, Bronson dropped out of Bayside High School and cooked at his father’s still-open Mediterranean restaurant in Forest Hills, which specializes in Albanian dishes like Jani me Fasule, a white bean stew. Also a culinary school dropout, Bronson is a passionate chef, freestyling insane, flavor-piling recipes that reconcile what he calls the “peasant” food of his childhood with what he’s encountered out in the world. The concept behind Hasan Salaam's EP "Music Is My Weapon" is the belief that music can be used as a powerful tool in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and equality. With the release of the project, Hasan is aiming to prove that music can change people's lives, literally. All profits from the sale of the EP will be used to fund a school, clean water well, and medical clinic in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. In November 2010, Hasan became the first U.S hip hop artist to ever perform in Bissau. On the same trip he worked with the young artists, taught creative writing to the youth, and headlined a concert to promote freedom of speech. The "Music Is My Weapon" project is the next step, in an effort to provide change to a country that remains one of the poorest and least politically stable in the world.
Termanology and Ea$y Money have come together with The DJBooth to bring listeners their collaborative street release, the S.T.R.E.E.T. mixtape. Their first project together since the early 2000s, when the emcees (then high-school classmates) launched their careers as members of hip-hop crew St Da Squad, the tape features 14 original records from the one-time partners-in-rhyme. Produced entirely by Lee Bannon, S.T.R.E.E.T. features guest appearances by Fred The Godson, REKS, Kali, and the entire St Da Squad crew (Term, Ea$y, Hectic, Artisin, Ghetto, Superstah Snuk, Clip, Stalion and DJ Deadeye).
